Description

Formed in Oxford, England, The Egg has built a solid reputation and fanatical following around their funky, eclectic jam-based electronic prog-rock bliss. Throw Pink Floyd, Air, Royksopp and Daft Punk in a blender and you have somewhat of an idea of their sound. Not ones to be pigeon-holed; The Egg dance around the edge of typical genres; often performing at massive festivals around the world with rock, jam and electronic artists alike; while The Egg combines the best of all worlds. A longtime favorite of Radiohead and Supergrass, their live shows have become legend at Glastonbury and the Big Chill; as well as the recent US festival Echo Project in Atlanta this past October. FORWARDS startles with a variety on offer; from the indie guitar rocking title track to the beautiful vocals of Zero 7 collaborator Sophie Barker on the Air-like "Walking Away," from the string n' piano lusciousness of "Wall" to classic Egg jams such as "Funky Dube" and "Nothing." With their target locked on the US, this release is pivotal to exposing their strange, unique conglomeration of hip, psychedelic pop to hungry ears at both retail and festival levels.
