In 5 weeks in 1962, Green recorded 3 unique quartet sessions with Sonny Clark on piano, Sam Jones on bass and Louis Hayes or Art Blakey on drums. of the 3 LPs (all considered too progressive for Green's soul-jazz following), only one (Airegin) came out in the U.S.; Gooden's Corner and Oleo were released only in Japan. Collector's items of legendary status (those who have heard these sessions consider them some of the best work Green ever recorded), now all 3 are available, with 3 bonus tracks, on this specially priced 2-CD set.
